Dear 3D,
These are some of the misconceptions that some of you may have.
Go through the list of misconceptions shown below and try to reason out why these statements are wrong. When you reason out, ALWAYS relate it to the characteristics of the 6 groups of animals that you have learnt.
1. Penguin is a mammal. Penguin is not a bird. Penguin is covered with hair or fur.
2. Amphibians have moist skin with scales.
3. All insects have wings.
4. Bat is a bird.
5. Shark is not a fish. Shark is an amphibian.
6. A dolphin is a fish.
7. All birds can fly.
8. A whale is a fish.
9. A spider is an insect.
10. A turtle is an amphibian.
11. All fish lay eggs.
12. All reptiles lay eggs.
13. A mudskipper is an amphibian.
14. All mammals give birth to young alive.
15. Human beings are not mammals.

Dear boys and girls,
You have learnt the 6 different groups of animals. To help you remember better, once again, we came up with an acronym 'BI FARM', which represents
B - Birds
I - Insects
F - Fish
A - Amphibians
R - Reptiles
M - Mammals
* Learn the spelling of the words above AND you must know the characteristics of the different groups of animals very well. I will give you a quiz on this the next lesson :)

The Venus Flytrap
Dear 3D,
All of you were so excited to see Venus Flytrap right infront of your eyes last Friday. You observed how the Venus Flytrap responded to stimuli/ changes when I put my finger in between the leaves. The jaw-like leaves closed! This is one example of how plant, a living thing, responds to changes. :)
The video below shows you more on Venus Flytrap and how it responds to stimuli / changes. Happy viewing.

The 4 characteristics of living things
Hi boys and girls,
Remember the acronym we created in class to help us remember the 4 characteristics of living things.
Rest & Relax FAW Grandparents
R -- Respond to Changes
R -- Reproduce
FAW -- Food , Air , Water
Gr -- Grow
Hope this helps you to remember and recall the 4 characteristics of living things. Of course, you must know how to spell these words as well.
